Notice to Competitors 02 dated September 13, 2017

WIND AND WEATHER

It is the intention of the race committee to be guided by the following principles during the regatta. These guidelines should not be considered as commitments by the race committee, but rather as some of the factors to be used in decisions around wind and weather.

1       Races may not be started when the average wind speed over the entire course is less than 4 kn. This lower limit may be higher if there is a strong current in the racing area.

2       Races may not be started when the average wind speed over the entire course is over 21 kn, or where there are gusts over 25 kn for 30 seconds at the race committee signal boat. These upper limits may be lower if the sea state requires.

3       Races may be abandoned if the average wind speed over the course is greater than 24 kn, or if there are gusts over 28 kn for 30 seconds at the race committee signal boat. These upper limits may be lower if the sea state requires.
